 Eligibility for Admission

  • Bachelors' degree of 10+2+3 pattern with Economics as one of the subjects or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto from any recognized university.
  • Candidates appearing in the Final Year Examination of the qualifying degree, or those whose result of the same is awaited, can also apply provisionally.
    Procedure for Admission
  • For admission to MA Economics programme all eligible candidates are required to undergo written Entrance Test which will be conducted at BGSB University Campus, Rajouri & at any other Centres if the University so decides..
  • Syllabus and Model Question Paper for the Entrance Test will be available on the University website from where these can be downloaded. Admit Card for Entrance Test will be collected by the candidates from the Department, Branch or Regional Offices of the University.
  • Admission will be based on the combined merit of students in the Entrance Test & the qualifying examination.

     

    2. M. Phil/Ph.D Economics.

    The Department is running M. Phil. and Ph. D. programmes since 2017. The Department has faculty members with lot of research background and experience which helps the scholars to undertake and explore new areas of research in the fields of Economics at micro_ and macro levels. At present, three scholars are pursing Ph. D. and one M. Phil.

    Eligibility For admission to the Doctor of Philosophy programme. 
           A candidate must fulfill any of the following eligibility criteria:

  • 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 -point Scale) in M. Phil. Course Work (50% for SC / ST, OBC - non creamy layer and differently abled candidates).
  • Masters degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Masters degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC / ST, OBC candidates) in aggregate or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7 - point scale.
