Eligibility for Admission
(Common for Both B.Tech Programmes)
- Passed 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST categories)
- Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
- Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination or awaiting results can also apply and appear in the admission process provisionally
Procedure for Admission
B.Tech (Information Technology & Engineering)
- Admission is based on the score/merit obtained in CUET (Common University Entrance Test) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)
- Interested candidates must register with NTA. Details and instructions are available at https://nta.ac.in
- Admission to unfilled seats (if any) shall be made based on academic merit in the qualifying examination (12th class)
B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning)
- Admission is based on merit in the qualifying examination (12th class)
Lateral Admission to B.Tech (ITE – 3rd Semester)
- The University offers lateral entry to B.Tech (Information Technology & Engineering) in the 3rd semester
- Intake: Number of seats available for lateral entry will be notified at the start of Semester III
Eligibility for Lateral Entry:
- Passed Diploma in Engineering in any stream from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University with at least 60% marks
Procedure for Admission:
- Admission shall be based on marks obtained in the qualifying diploma examination
Change of Branch in B.Tech (3rd Semester)
- The University offers a provision for change of branch to B.Tech (Information Technology & Engineering) in the 3rd semester, for students currently pursuing B.Tech at BGSBU in the following streams:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science & Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Intake: Number of seats available for branch change will be notified at the commencement of Semester III
Eligibility for Branch Change:
- Change of stream will be permitted only after full fee payment
- Students must have passed all theory and lab courses of Semester I and must have appeared in all courses of Semester II
- Selection will be based on marks secured in the Semester I examination
